Volleyball Recap: Five Straight Home Victories for Bayfield

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Bayfield and Durango, and Bayfield kept the tradition alive. The Wolverines came out on top against the Demons by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The Wolverines have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Demons, too.

Bayfield had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-23, 25-13, 25-18.

Evelette Hollibaugh paced Bayfield's offense, picking up 15 kills. Hollibaugh got some help from Avery Shipman and her 28 assists.

Bayfield's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. As for Durango, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Bayfield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Montrose on the 2nd. As for Durango, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Delta on the 28th.
