Basketball Recap: Christian Myers' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Woodland over Hampton

Woodland's game on Friday was all tied up 20-20 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 51-42 to the Hampton Hornets. The defeat continues a trend for the Wolfpack in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now lost three in a row.

Woodland lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Christian Myers, who posted six points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. Myers has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Omari Scott, who went 5 for 12 en route to 13 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hampton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Asa Parker, who had 12 points. That's the most points Parker has posted since back in January of 2024. C J Geiger was another key player, putting up ten points.

Woodland's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Hampton, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-8.

Woodland has already played their next match, a 49-46 victory against Jones County on the 25th. As for Hampton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-50 defeat against Union Grove on the 25th.
