Football Recap: Joseph City Gets the Win + How To Watch

Fans were treated to a battle of the Wildcats on Friday. Joseph City snuck past Mayer with a 40-34 victory. That's more bragging rights for Joseph City, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Kase Fish threw for 192 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 passes. Kyan Larsen was his top target, picking up 91 receiving yards and one TD.

Mayer's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jonny Bryce, who rushed for 108 yards and a pair of scores, and also picked up 42 receiving yards. Kyle Dorman was another key back, gaining 65 total yards.

Joseph City now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Mayer, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Joseph City will face off against Williams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will be up against the Vikings' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Mayer, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Valley Union at 7:00 p.m. on October 10.
