It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Morse had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They blew past the Chula Vista Spartans 3-0. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
While Morse won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-23, 25-6.
Shaylnn Copes paced Morse's offense, picking up 11 kills. Copes got some help from Hailee Divina and her 16 assists. Divina was also solid from the service line: she led the team with nine aces.
Morse's victory bumped their record up to 20-16. As for Chula Vista, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-20.
Coming up, Morse will take on High Tech CV at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Chula Vista does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
