Basketball Recap: Idalou Takes a Loss

Idalou lost against Floydada back in November and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Idalou Wildcats fell 59-51 to the Floydada Whirlwinds.

Floydada had a senior duo take command as Braun Hobbs almost dropped a double-double on 26 points and nine rebounds and Sergio Valadez went 7 of 14 on his way to 22 points in addition to six boards and four steals. The match was Hobbs' seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Manny Delafuente, who posted four points and three steals.

Idalou's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Floydada, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Idalou and Friona will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Floydada will take on Tahoka in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
