Basketball Game Preview: Hillsdale FIGHTING KNIGHTS vs. Half Moon Bay Cougars

The Hillsdale FIGHTING KNIGHTS will face off against the Half Moon Bay Cougars at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Hillsdale has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the second.

Hillsdale is headed into the match having just suffered their closest loss since December 28, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Jefferson by a score of 57-54. While the FIGHTING KNIGHTS didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Grizzlies 16-12 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Half Moon Bay faced off against Woodside on Wednesday. Half Moon Bay snuck past Woodside with a 60-56 win. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 145th, while the Wildcats are ranked 531st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hillsdale's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Half Moon Bay, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Things could have been worse for Hillsdale, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 60-46 loss to Half Moon Bay in their previous meeting two weeks ago.
