Volleyball Recap: Clewiston Takes a Loss

Clewiston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Avon Park Red Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 two weeks ago.

The final score came out to 25-4, 25-8, 25-8.

Avon Park's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Maci Albritton led the charge by getting ten kills and three digs. Those ten kills gave Albritton a new career-high. Another player making a difference was DeeAnna Turner, who had seven digs.

Clewiston's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Avon Park, they pushed their record up to 7-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Clewiston will face off against Gateway Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Avon Park, they will square off against Haines City at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
