The Asheville Cougars had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They secured a 48-42 W over A.C. Reynolds. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up nine more assists than your opponent, as Asheville did.

Asheville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aidan Shaw, who scored nine points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Kendrick Carter, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.

Several Rockets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Declan Brown, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. Ty Johnson was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with ten rebounds.

A.C. Reynolds struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.

Asheville's win bumped their record up to 8-10. As for A.C. Reynolds, they dropped their record down to 9-11 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Asheville will square off against T.C. Roberson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in T.C. Roberson's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six contests. As for A.C. Reynolds, they and Erwin will face off at 8:00 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. A.C. Reynolds is facing Erwin at the right time seeing as Erwin is stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
