Baseball Recap: Oak Harbor Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games

There's no place like home for Oak Harbor, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They skirted past the Swanton Bulldogs 2-0.

Caleb Baker looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Oak Harbor saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Karson Lash, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Oak Harbor is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Swanton, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-7-1.

Oak Harbor and Swanton are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Rockets will head out on the road to challenge Coldwater at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cavaliers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so Oak Harbor's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Swanton, they will take on Eastwood at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bulldogs 2.7, the Eagles 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
