Preview: Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood Mavericks vs. Velva Aggies
Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood and Velva are an even 4-4 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood Mavericks will be playing at home against the Velva Aggies at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood had to kick off their season on the road back in December of 2023, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Powers Lake/Burke Central and snuck past 46-43.
Meanwhile, Velva's seven-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Saturday. They breezed by St. John on the road to the tune of 77-40. Velva's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Velva, their victory bumped their record up to 1-5.
Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Velva in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, but they still walked away with a 56-51 win. Will Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood repeat their success, or does Velva have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
