Basketball Recap: Ben Lomond Takes a Loss

Ben Lomond was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Orem Tigers, falling 57-11. The Scots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-1.

Aliyah Gonzalez was Ben Lomond's leading scorer, having posted six points. Regahn Espinoza held things down on the boards with nine rebounds.

Ben Lomond's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Orem, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ben Lomond won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Rockwell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Orem, they will also get right back to it: they'll take on West Field at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will be up against the Longhorns' rather soft defense (which has allowed 61.25 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
