Preview: Valley Forge Patriots vs. Holy Name Green Wave

Valley Forge is 1-7 against Holy Name since September of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Valley Forge Patriots will be playing in front of their home fans against the Holy Name Green Wave at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Valley Forge fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Normandy 40-37.

Valley Forge haved a senior duo take command as Ben Farson gained 182 total yards and four touchdowns and Daniel Kiewel rushed for 98 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. Kiewel was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 53 yards. nicholas mankins and his 103 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Valley Forge's victory.

Meanwhile, Holy Name took their contest on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 34-6 victory over Lakewood. Holy Name pushed the score to 28-6 by the end of the third, a deficit Lakewood had little chance of recovering from.

Holy Name's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Xavier Rodriguez, who rushed for 92 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, and William Dix, who rushed for 113 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries.

Their wins bumped Valley Forge to 4-5 and Holy Name to 3-6.

Valley Forge came up short against Holy Name in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 21-14. Will Valley Forge have more luck at home instead of on the road?
