Football Recap: Newark Charter School Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Seaford + How To Watch

Newark Charter School faced Seaford in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Patriots lost 33-7 to the Bluejays. Having soared to a lofty 34 points in the game before, the Patriots couldn't push the score so high this time.

Chase Kennedy threw for 110 yards and one touchdown while completing 71.4% of his passes. Cayden Anderson was his top target, picking up 55 receiving yards.

It was another big night for Vince Evans III, who rushed for 144 yards and three scores on only 11 carries, and also threw for 104 yards and one TD while completing 71.4% of his passes for Seaford. The dominant performance also gave Evans III a new career-high in passer rating (153.3). Brendan West was another key player, rushing for 109 yards and one touchdown.

The loss snapped Newark Charter School's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-2 record. As for Seaford, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Coincidentally, Newark Charter School and Seaford will both be playing Early College the next time they take the field. The Patriots will host the Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Bluejays will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on the 31st.
