Basketball Recap: Grace Gallagher's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hunter over Bonneville

Hunter was the 55-42 winner over Bonneville when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wolverines took a 53-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lakers on Tuesday. While the Wolverines didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Lakers 15-11 in the first quarter.

Several Wolverines players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Grace Gallagher, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 11 boards. Gallagher has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more blocks the last 27 times she's played. Skye Davidson was another key player, shooting 42% from the field on her way to 12 points and six rebounds.

Bonneville can attribute much of their success to Baya Jimenez, who posted 20 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Adisyn Stone, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 10 points and six boards.

Hunter now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Bonneville, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1.

Coming up, Hunter will face off against Viewmont at 7:00 p.m. on December 4. As for Bonneville, they will square off against Skyline at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
