Softball Game Preview: Denmark Vikings vs. Fox Valley Lutheran Fox

The Denmark Vikings will take on the Fox Valley Lutheran Fox on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Denmark comes in on seven and Fox Valley Lutheran on four.

Denmark is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They skirted past Kewaskum 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Vikings have posted since May 15th.

The team relied heavily on Olivia Frank, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hazel Fields, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Denmark hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Fox Valley Lutheran hadn't done well against Luxemburg-Casco recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Fox sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Spartans.

Fox Valley Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 23-3. As for Denmark, their victory bumped their record up to 27-4.

Denmark suffered a grim 13-3 defeat to Fox Valley Lutheran in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
