Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Cabrillo walked away with it. They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat the Royal Highlanders 65-38. Given the Jaguars' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 224th, while the Highlanders are ranked 463rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mason Johnson was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 21 points and 12 boards. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024. Lincoln Dean was another key player, to rack up 15 points.

Cabrillo wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 52-46 win against Valencia on the 14th. Royal does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
