Preview: North Fork Miners vs. Cedaredge Bruins
North Fork is 2-8 against Cedaredge since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The North Fork Miners will head out on the road to face off against the Cedaredge Bruins at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully North Fork focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
Last Friday, North Fork earned a 51-41 victory over Vail Mountain. The win was just what North Fork needed coming off of a 64-33 loss in their prior contest.
North Fork can attribute much of their success to Moss Inman, who scored 18 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Ryder Hart, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Cedaredge, who are still winless after their fourth match. They were dealt a 89-43 defeat at the hands of Coal Ridge on Tuesday. Cedaredge was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-24.
Despite their defeat, Cedaredge saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Rylan Brooks, who scored 14 points, was perhaps the best of all. Brooks continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Tullis, who scored ten points.
North Fork now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Cedaredge, they have fallen quite a ways from their 18-4 record last season and are now at 0-4.
Keep an eye on the arc in Friday's match: North Fork have been dynamite from deep this season, having only nailed 31.3% of their threes per game. It's a different story for Cedaredge, though, as they've only made 6.75% of their threes per game this season. Given North Fork's sizeable advantage in that area, Cedaredge will need to find a way to close that gap.
North Fork lost to Cedaredge on the road by a decisive 63-45 margin in their previous meeting back in February. Can North Fork avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
