Baseball Game Preview: Littleton Lions vs. Widefield Gladiators

The Littleton Lions will face off against the Widefield Gladiators at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Littleton is headed into Saturday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Smoky Hill.

Peyton Brooks was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Calonder, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Widefield came up short against The Classical Academy on Tuesday and fell 8-3. The Gladiators haven't had much luck with the Titans recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Widefield saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Liam Gordon, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Littleton's record is now 0-2. As for Widefield, their record now sits at an identical 0-2.
