Basketball Game Preview: Candlelight Christian Academy Flames vs. Hifz Academy Pegasuses

The Candlelight Christian Academy Flames will square off against the Hifz Academy Pegasuses at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Candlelight Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.8 points per game this season.

On Tuesday, Candlelight Christian Academy came up short against American Youth Academy and fell 59-49. The contest marked the Flames' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Candlelight Christian Academy had strong showings from Ronald Cordero, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 15 boards, and Trevor Gonzalez, who posted 16 points and three steals. Gonzalez continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was CJ Morris, who earned eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, Hifz Academy had to kick off their season on the road back in November, but they showed no ill effects. They managed a 37-31 win over Geneva Classical Academy.

Candlelight Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Hifz Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.

Candlelight Christian Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Hifz Academy in their previous matchup back in February, but they still walked away with a 35-29 win. Will the Flames repeat their success, or do the Pegasuses have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
