Baseball Recap: Dadeville Has No Trouble Against Wadley

Dadeville was not the first on the board on Tuesday, but they got there more often. Everything went their way against the Wadley Bulldogs as the Dadeville Tigers made off with a 19-7 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tigers also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Cam Heard made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his six plate appearances with four RBI and two runs. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cale Hanks, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his six plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cole Daniel, who scored three runs while going 2-for-5.

Dadeville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .378. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wadley only posted a batting average of .250.

The win got Dadeville back to even at 1-1. As for Wadley, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers duke it out with the Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Wadley, they will take on Randolph County at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
