Basketball Recap: Luke Berrelez and Ryan Hitchcock Secure Win for Estrella Foothills

Estrella Foothills won the last time they faced Shadow Mountain and things went their way on Thursday too. The Estrella Foothills Wolves came out on top in a nail-biter against the Shadow Mountain Matadors, sneaking past 56-54. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wolves have posted since December 6, 2023.

Leading Estrella Foothills to victory were Ryan Hitchcock and Luke Berrelez. Hitchcock went 5 of 11 on his way to 17 points and seven rebounds, while Berrelez went 6 of 15 on his way to 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Duncan, who posted nine points.

With the win, Estrella Foothills broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-8. As for Shadow Mountain, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Estrella Foothills will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Gila Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
