Recap: Somerset Berkley Regional Raiders vs. Old Rochester Regional Bulldogs
It was a good run, but the Somerset Berkley Regional Raiders unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. They were the victim of a rough 71-51 loss at the hands of Old Rochester Regional. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Somerset Berkley Regional has scored all season.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Colten Pacheco, who scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pacheco has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Medeiros, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.
Somerset Berkley Regional's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-2. As for Old Rochester Regional, they pushed their record up to 13-4 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Somerset Berkley Regional will square off against Bishop Stang at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Bishop Stang has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 300 points over their last five matches. As for Old Rochester Regional, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Apponequet Regional at 6:30 p.m. Apponequet Regional knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matchups -- so hopefully Old Rochester Regional likes a good challenge.
