Recap: Littleton Lions vs. Alameda Pirates

The Littleton Lions waltzed into their match on Wednesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 61-17 victory over Alameda. Given Littleton's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 147th, while Alameda is ranked 313th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Jacy Chandler, who scored 21 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Vicky Whitney, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Alameda struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Littleton racked up 13 assists.

Littleton has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season. As for Alameda, their loss was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Littleton will square off against Golden at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Golden focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Wednesday. As for Alameda, they will head out on the road to face off against Pomona at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Pomona focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 39 last Friday.
