Volleyball Recap: Seminole Ridge's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

There's no place like home for Seminole Ridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Ransom Everglades Raiders 2-1 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hawks have posted since September 3rd.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Seminole Ridge got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 18-25, 17-15.

Their offense was headlined by Capri Corey and Abi Chin Lee, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Ivanna Sierra and her 13 assists. Chin Lee also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Ava Castano, each putting up three.

When it comes to explaining why Ransom Everglades lost, don't look at Nalah Picchetti. Despite the final result, she had ten digs, three aces, and one block. Picchetti has been hot for a while, having also posted 14 or more assists the last ten times she's played. Isabella Sabritt was another key player, getting 12 digs, five kills, and two aces.

Seminole Ridge moved to 7-12 with that victory, which also ended their four-match losing streak. As for Ransom Everglades, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.

Seminole Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Dreyfoos School of the Arts on the 29th. As for Ransom Everglades, they have also already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Lourdes Academy on the 30th.
