Calera gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They managed a 102-96 win over Oak Mountain. This was payback for Calera, who suffered a 48-37 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Oak Mountain lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Gray Carrington, who posted 27 points. Another player making a difference was Patton Knight, who scored 21 points.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calera is headed away from home for the first time to take on Mortimer Jordan at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Oak Mountain, they will head out to face off against Tuscaloosa County on Tuesday.
