Football Game Preview: Beavercreek Beavers vs. Fairmont Firebirds

The Beavercreek Beavers will face off against the Fairmont Firebirds at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Beavercreek took a 38-point defeat the last time they faced off against Wayne, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Beavers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Warriors on Friday, sneaking past 20-17. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Beavers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 213th, while the Warriors are ranked 86th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Fairmont, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-7 win over Springfield on Friday. The ten-point effort marked the Firebirds' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Fairmont is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.5 points on average over those games. As for Beavercreek, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.

Beavercreek came up short against Fairmont when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 20-7. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Firebirds' Jj Hill, who rushed for 92 yards on only 13 carries, and also threw for 63 yards and one touchdown.
