Softball Recap: Norte Vista Comes Up Short

Norte Vista had lost five straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 3-9 to make it six. They came up short against the Rubidoux Falcons, falling 12-3. The Braves were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Falcons earlier this season, when they won 17-4.

Norte Vista saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Victoria Montalvo, who went 1-for-4 with one run.

As for Rubidoux, they moved to 2-14 with that victory, which also ended their nine-game losing streak. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the contest before.

On Rubidoux's side, the team relied heavily on Davina Sandoval, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with four runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those five hits gave Sandoval a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Genevieve Aguas, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

While Norte Vista had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
