Basketball Recap: Jaden Neugebauer Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Reed

The third road contest was the charm for Chico, as they earned their first road win of the season. They took down the Reed Raiders 58-44 on Thursday.

Chico got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaden Neugebauer out in front who went 5 of 6 en route to 11 points and five steals. That's the most steals Neugebauer has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Vincent Boatwright, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 17 rebounds.

Reed lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ford Gilliam, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 13 points. Another player making a difference was Nishaan Bajwa, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 13 points.

Chico's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Reed, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Chico didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 43-41 win against Vista del Lago on the 13th. As for Reed, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 71-51 defeat against Natomas on the 13th.
