Basketball Recap: Chatfield Starts Season with Win Against Mountain Range

Chatfield had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Mountain Range Mustangs 76-53. The Chargers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Mustangs, too.

When it comes to explaining why Mountain Range lost, don't look at Preston Brunton. Despite the final result, he shot 44% from the field en route to 36 points. Another player making a difference was Malachi Wood, who posted five points and three steals.

Coming up, Chatfield will be playing in front of their home fans against Erie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mountain Range, they are taking a road trip to square off against Broomfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
