Softball Game Preview: North Mustangs vs. Ironwood Eagles

The North Mustangs will take on the Ironwood Eagles at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Ironwood took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on North, who comes in off a win.

North took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They never let Central get on the board and left with a 14-0 win. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Natalie Figueroa was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Atiana Rios, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple.

Meanwhile, Ironwood came up short against JW North on Saturday and fell 8-5.

Ironwood saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Diana Gallagher, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Gallagher also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

North's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Ironwood, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
