Football Recap: Beecher/Johnson Takes a Loss

Beecher/Johnson had lost five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-4 to make it six. They took a blow against the Parkway Christian Eagles, falling 40-12. Beecher/Johnson was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-0.

As for Parkway Christian, the victory got them back to even at 2-2. Their offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.

It was another big night for Zaheem Cannon, who rushed for 261 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.9 yards per carry. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making seven total tackles (3.0 for loss) and defending one pass.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beecher/Johnson will head out to square off against Flint Southwestern Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Beecher/Johnson will be up against the Knights' rather soft defense (which has allowed 49.25 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Parkway Christian, they are taking a road trip to face off against Lutheran Northwest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will be up against the Crusaders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
