Basketball Game Preview: Audenried vs. Academy-Notre Dame De Namur

Audenried will take on Academy-Notre Dame De Namur at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Audenried is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat Mastery Charter North - Pickett 97-39. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 51-24.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Audenried to victory, but perhaps none more so than Shayla Smith, who posted 30 points. Smith's afternoon made it ten games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Jordyn Searles was another key player, putting up 21 points.

Meanwhile, Academy-Notre Dame De Namur put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Mt. St. Joseph Academy with a sharp 58-32 win. Given Academy-Notre Dame De Namur's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while Mt. St. Joseph Academy is ranked 278th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Academy-Notre Dame De Namur's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 22 points. As for Audenried, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
