Volleyball Recap: Marion Comes Up Short

Marion and Almond-Bancroft squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Marion had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Eagles. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost seven in a row.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-21, 25-9.

Marion's offense was headlined by Julia James and Brea Wegner, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Myah Malueg and her nine assists. Sophia Wudstrack and Madeline Wudstrack kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Marion's loss dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Almond-Bancroft, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-17.

Marion does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Almond-Bancroft, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran on the 25th.
