The Malad Dragons will head out to face off against the Firth Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Malad's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. Everything went their way against North Fremont as they made off with a 9-0 win. Winning may never get old, but the Dragons sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Cale Briggs was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Malad is undefeated when Briggs posts two or more runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Easton Green, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-1.
Malad always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Fremont only posted an OBP of .190.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Firth took on West Jefferson on Saturday. The Cougars put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 10-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.
Quinton Hall was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brycen Andersen, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Michael Adams was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Firth's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Malad, their record now sits at 9-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Malad has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Firth struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Malad took their win against Firth in their previous meeting on Wednesday by a conclusive 17-5 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dragons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
