Soccer Recap: Coronado Comes Up Short

Coronado's game on Tuesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of the Socorro Bulldogs by a score of 1-0. The Thunderbirds were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Coronado has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Socorro, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1.

Looking ahead, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Coronado face off against the Eastlake at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Coronado is facing Eastlake at the right time seeing as Eastlake is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Socorro, they will take on Montwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Socorro is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.7 goals per game this season.
