Brophy College Prep is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Williams Field, who was ranked 15th at the time (Brophy College Prep was ranked seventh). The Broncos blew past the Black Hawks 56-28 on Friday. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Broncos just coasted through the last quarter.

Case Vanden Bosch continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 128 yards and one touchdown on only 13 carries, while also throwing for 154 yards and three TDs while completing 81.2% of his passes. His passing game has become a key predictor of Brophy College Prep's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 0-4 otherwise. Harrison Chambers also helped out as he racked up 100 rushing yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Brophy College Prep was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 275 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Brophy College Prep didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Josh Anderson and Braxton Tate. Tate has been hot, having also posted seven or more total tackles the last seven times he's played.
Meanwhile, Casteel played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 41-21 to ALA - Queen Creek. The Colts' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Brophy College Prep will have to contain Tee Smith as he made an impact in Casteel's last game. He rushed for 116 yards and a pair of scores on only 15 carries, and also threw for 284 yards and one touchdown.
Even if they lost, Casteel's defensive line still kept up the pressure with six sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as six different players picked up one apiece.
Casteel's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-4. As for Brophy College Prep, their record is now an identical 6-4.
Friday's contest will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Vanden Bosch and Smith. Vanden Bosch just won't slow down this season and has thrown 18 touchdowns while averaging 197.4 passing yards per game. Smith has been a dominant force too and has thrown 14 touchdowns while averaging 270.2 passing yards per game.
Brophy College Prep strolled past Casteel when the teams last played back in November of 2023 by a score of 31-17. Do the Broncos have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Colts turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
