Basketball Recap: St. Joseph Takes a Loss

St. Joseph lost against Warde back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The match between the St. Joseph Cadets and the Warde Mustangs didn't end well, with the St. Joseph Cadets falling 78-62. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (61), the Cadets still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why St. Joseph lost, don't look at TJ Wright. Despite the final result, he went 8 for 17 on his way to 20 points. The game was Wright's third in a row with at least ten points. Jayden Febus was another key player, putting up 13 points.

This is the second loss in a row for St. Joseph and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Warde, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Joseph will face off against Greenwich at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in St. Joseph's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests. As for Warde, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Staples at 7:00 p.m. on January 28th.
