Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, North Stanly couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the West Davidson Dragons by a score of 23-21 on Friday. The Comets' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Leading West Davidson to victory were Nic Huff and Carson Correll. Huff rushed for 45 yards and two scores, while Correll rushed for 71 yards and one TD.

North Stanly's loss dropped their record down to 10-2. As for West Davidson, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

North Stanly does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Davidson, they will face off against Lincolnton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Correll and Rashad Lynch.
