Basketball Recap: Academy of the Holy Names Takes a Loss

After flying high against East Bay on Wednesday, Academy of the Holy Names came back down to earth. The Jaguars took a 43-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Berkeley Prep Buccaneers on Friday. The game marked the Jaguars' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Berkeley Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carinne Washington, who shot 40% from the field en route to 19 points. Another player making a difference was Molly Taylor, who posted ten points and four steals.

Academy of the Holy Names' loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Berkeley Prep, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Looking ahead, Academy of the Holy Names will head out on the road to face off against Keswick Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Berkeley Prep, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Seffner Christian at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
