Basketball Recap: San Luis Comes Up Short

San Luis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a blow against the Yuma Criminals, falling 54-26. The Sidewinders were not able to make up for their defeat to the Criminals from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Vanessa Ambriz was San Luis' leading scorer, having posted nine points. Ambriz also led the team in rebounds with seven.

San Luis' loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Yuma, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. San Luis will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on West Point at 7:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025. Yuma will also get a bit of a break before their next match: they'll face off against Desert Sunrise at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
