Volleyball Recap: Royal Valley Comes Up Short

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Royal Valley and Rossville, and Rossville kept the tradition alive. The Panthers fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Royal Valley sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 21-25, 25-20.

Rossville was led to victory by Ady Henry and Brooke Springer. Henry had 18 digs, while Springer had 13 digs and one assist. Those 13 digs gave Springer a new career-high. Nora Burdiek also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Royal Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Rossville, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Royal Valley will face off against Silver Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rossville, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Holton on the 23rd.
