Basketball Recap: Timothy Ofesi Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Alief Taylor

Alief Elsik hadn't done well against Alief Taylor recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Alief Elsik Rams came out on top against the Alief Taylor Lions by a score of 59-46. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.

Alief Elsik's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Timothy Ofesi led the charge by dropping a double-double with 11 points and 14 boards. Ofesi has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Joshua Smith, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds.

Despite the loss, Alief Taylor still got an impressive performance from Tae Malik, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 12 points and eight boards. That's the most rebounds Malik has posted since back in February of 2024. Brent Johnson was another key player, putting up five points.

Alief Elsik's record is now 15-18. As for Alief Taylor, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-21 record this season.

Alief Elsik has already played their next game, an 81-43 defeat against Seven Lakes on the 18th. Alief Taylor does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
