Soccer Recap: Monroe Gets the Win + How To Watch

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Monroe had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Carson Cougars 2-1. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but Monroe were the better team in the second half.

Jesus Quizapa-Sanchez and Yoseht Lopez scored both of Monroe's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 53 goals.

Monroe is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five matches. As for Carson, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

As of now, neither Monroe nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
