It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Holmes can now relate to. They fell 3-1 to the Perquimans Pirates on Tuesday. The Aces' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

The final score came out to 25-20, 24-26, 25-16, 25-16.

SarahLogan Cobb paced Holmes' offense, picking up 14 kills. Cobb got some help from Harper Evans and her 34 assists. Evans was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Heather Smith was the offensive standout of the match as she had 14 digs and one assist. Those 14 digs gave her a new career-high. Hayleigh Solesbee was another key player, getting seven digs and two aces.

Holmes' defeat dropped their record down to 25-4. As for Perquimans, the win was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 28-3.

Holmes does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Perquimans, they will square off against Community School of Davidson at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
