Basketball Game Preview: St. Petersburg Green Devils vs. Clearwater Tornadoes + Official Tickets

Having just played yesterday, the St. Petersburg Green Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Clearwater Tornadoes at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Clearwater will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: St. Petersburg extended their winning streak to four on Friday. The Green Devils came out on top against Sunlake by a score of 61-54.

St. Petersburg's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Shaw Summer led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds. Summer is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down nine or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Quay Curry, who posted ten points and eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clearwater). They claimed a resounding 60-31 victory over Gulf.

St. Petersburg's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Clearwater, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

St. Petersburg was dealt a bruising 80-26 loss at the hands of Clearwater in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Green Devils were down 53-14.
