Softball Recap: Walden Grove Wins Going Away Against Pusch Ridge Christian Academy

Walden Grove barely beat Pusch Ridge Christian Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Walden Grove blew past Pusch Ridge Christian Academy 12-1 on Wednesday. The Red Wolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 11 runs or more this season.

Natalie Holzer was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Isabel Higuera was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.

Walden Grove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The victory got Walden Grove back to even at 5-5. As for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy, their loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Walden Grove will square off against Salpointe Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Salpointe Catholic's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Walden Grove's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy, they will face off against Maricopa at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pusch Ridge Christian Academy's pitchers better be ready for this one: Maricopa has averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season.
