Basketball Recap: Frewsburg's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Frewsburg had lost five straight headed into Monday's matchup, but Kael Collver didn't let it get to six. The Frewsburg Bears rang in the new year with a 55-43 victory over the Silver Creek Black Knights on Monday thanks in part to Collver, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 boards. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last five games he's played.

Blake Weaver was another key player, putting up five points along with six boards and three steals. Weaver is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

Frewsburg's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Silver Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Frewsburg will venture away from home to square off against Gowanda at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Silver Creek, they will take on Randolph at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Randolph will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Silver Creek surely won't give up without a fight.
