Basketball Recap: East Henderson's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

If North Henderson wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played East Henderson, they should've done a better job of containing Chylah Lindsey. The East Henderson Eagles came out on top against the North Henderson Knights by a score of 30-23 on Thursday thanks in part to Lindsey, who posted four points and 14 rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in boards.

Despite the loss, North Henderson saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kyla Motley put up six points and three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for Motley. Another player making a difference was Reese Smith, who earned six points in addition to six rebounds and five steals.

With the victory, East Henderson broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-9. As for North Henderson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season.

East Henderson has already played their next game, a 62-34 defeat against Pisgah on the 14th. As for North Henderson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 49-22 loss against Hendersonville on the 14th.
