On Tuesday Havana's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Heyworth Hornets, sneaking past 12-10. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Ducks, who until this match were averaging four runs allowed.

Kaydi Miller was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Addie Atwater, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Havana's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Heyworth, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Havana will head out to challenge Abingdon/Avon at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tornadoes have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13 runs per game on average), something the Ducks will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Heyworth, they will challenge LeRoy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Hornets surely won't give up without a fight.
