Volleyball Recap: St. Anne Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when St. Anne duked it out with Beecher on Thursday. The Cardinals fell 2-0 to the Bobcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cardinals of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-17.

Tessa DeYoung paced St. Anne's offense, picking up five kills. DeYoung got some help from Quinlin Kirkland and her four assists. Finally, Demi Duncan kept St. Anne's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

St. Anne has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season. As for Beecher, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-5.

Looking ahead, St. Anne will be playing in front of their home fans against Gardner-South Wilmington at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Beecher, they are taking a road trip to face off against Bradley-Bourbonnais at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
